Current "Hot" News
- So, your this well-endowed chick and you are getting enough action in your dating life? About to give up in despair? Well, if you aren't getting the physical intimacy that you'd desire, then perhaps you can do something artistic with yourself? Like this story, perhaps? She paints paintings with her breasts and signs each painting with a nipple. So, no boyfriend there to tease, try a little oils or acrylics. Not the same, for sure, but she's getting about $100 CDN a painting. Worth a shot? And guys, don't ask what you can do - we are not going there.

- February (and Valentine's Day) is rapidly coming. Read this funny little article about one man's dread of both of these things getting here again. As he explains why dating is still a daunting venture!
- SnogLondon has released a survey about dating Do's & Dont's. Some of the Do's include flirting online and drinking wine - and the Dont's include not flaunting your tatoos & piercings and expecting to go all the way on the first date (3% of men expect that and 6% of the women). This also lists the top 10 favorite things of men and women: Favorite films, books, words, and songs. It is very interesting to compare these two lists - I got a kick out of it! Also pretty neat is their dating website that lists the various tube lines in London and where the hot dating action is. Maybe this is a good resource if you are planning a visit to London in the near future!
- Dating Amy: 50 True Confessions of a Serial Dater -- is, you
guessed it, tales of Amy DeZaller who fully documented 50 relationships
and how they went for her website
and has now gotten them published. The dates are no longer on
her website, but will shortly be out in book form. This article
is pretty good introduction to it all.
- Orlando Bloom has a dating trick it is revealed.
He treats his dates as if he was their father. That's great of
him, but I imagine that he's letting down some of the Lord
of the Rings groupies who just are after his body for
the night.
- Australia's RICH and SINGLE have their own

the story here. I guess if you think the Internet isn't safe
and tat you can let your guard down when you go to a real bricks
& mortar dating service well, your wrong! Daters beware!
- Very interesting (in that I never have really thought about
it) article
about adult children's reactions to their parent's dating.
- Interesting take on why guys aren't marrying as much, quickly,
or easily as in the past. And they don't say it is because of
a commitment-phobia, or that "He
just isn't that into you". It says the rules of dating
are changing so very fast -- almost every modern form of communication
that is being heavily used in dating today wasn't available 10
years ago. Read
it and see if you agree.
- A new Dating Reality tv show is going on in Canada, where the
girl is wooed solely through written letters.
No e-mail, phones, hot-tub visits, or roses. Each episode she
gets rid of the one who's letter she likes the least. It is shown

- 102
Great Dates for any occasion. Short review with a handful
of the 102 ideas here.
- Dinklink - no, not a dinky website - its a
new online dating service for people who are not married and have
no kids and want no kids who are looking for other unmarrieds
without kids and not wanting kids either. They say the "Dink"
part of "dinklink" stands for Double-income-no-kids.
Maybe. Fits you? Check
it out.
- Chicago Tribune has a short little article giving tips on things
to do (actually more not to do) to turn a first date into more
dates. You
may get a little out of it, but I hope you know it all already.
- People who exude confidence get more dates, and get more out
of their dating life. If you don't have self-esteem then you don't
have much confidence. How do you get self-esteem you ask? It's
hard work actually. But thankfully for the lazy among us, we
can buy it!
- Sally Anderson got a box of House of Commons chocolates from
her blind date with David Blunkett, who turned out to be a UK
secretary of state. So it may not be a good idea to have a rule
to always turn down blind dates! You never really know! Read
about it here.
- Maybe you should ask an angel to help out. A new book, The Angels'
Guide To Dating, by Laura Penn, shares her view of how the loveless
should get in touch with the right angel. "She says just
thinking about the name of a specific angel can make contact with
them. Then, after thinking of a direct question, the first answer
to occur to you is their answer." You might try Raphael (to
start dating) or maybe Jophiel, the miracle worker! A short review
of this newly published book in the UK is here.
- Having trouble locating that soulmate? Take a chance at finding
that during your next trip by selecting your seatmate! There is
a new website going that is aiming to bring online dating to the
airways. Read
it here. It is Air-Troductions
and arranges matches between people traveling the same way. But
if your boss has a problem with you seeking your next hot date
by getting to know someone on the plane during a business trip,
then you can always say it is simply networking - and let fate
take care of the possibilities.
- Baseball is being compared to dating. The Atlanta Braves, with
the newly won 14th consecutive division championship are in the
post-season again - and this
article describes them as the "nice guys" because
they are always consistently there - the designated driver of
baseball's party! The Yankees are the cool guys with the money
and the Red Sox will just break your heart. The Braves are like
the guy asking the cute girl to the homecoming dance, and getting
told that he's nice, but she's just accepted an invitation from
Derek Jeter! See how important getting your dating savvy down
is?
- "Dating today is a lot like math -- and you know how challenging
math can be".
- Older daters using the Internet more? Yahoo!
Personals
has run a survey
and found that 75% of online singles are looking for long-term
relationships, and 45-49 years old are the largest segment of
that group. One-third of those living on the west coast go out
at least twice a week.
- Different article on diet & attractiveness. Discusses the
"see-food"
diet in detail, and pot-bellies, etc.
- Barn swallows mating games are never over. If a female barn
swallow finds a male with a set of brighter red breast feathers,
she'll
dump her current beau and hit it off with the new guy. So the
more "Gussied Up" birds get all the action. Read
the story here.
- Smelly
T-Shirts and the immune system of your mate.
- Erotic chat is grounds
for divorce in Belgium.
- Bill Clinton is serving a useful purpose now for millions of
Chinese. There is a rubber company there that is now making a
line of condoms called Clinton
and Lewinsky. "The Clinton
condom will be the top of our line," a spokesman
said. "The Lewinsky condom is not quite
as good." The Guangzhou
Rubber Group handed out 100,000 free samples. The Clinton
sells for approximately $3.72 and the Lewinsky model
for $2.35. Read the full story here.
The best part? "I believe Bill Clinton cannot be unhappy
about this because he's a very generous man." ... and probably
for other reasons, too!
- Dating comedy? Apparently that's what this
story thinks. Sims 2 has its newest expansion pack now, Sims
2: Nightlife. It allows Sims
2 owners to further outfit your pad and your car for those
ever important nightlife encounters. I haven't tried Sims 2, but
I did try the original Sims when it came out a few years ago -
I surprised even myself as I didn't think I could screw up my
virtual life worse than my real one, but I did! I should have
filed for the Guinness Book of World Records on that, but oh well.
Anyway if your sim is also having trouble finding true love, he
or she will have to turn to the Gypsy Matchmaker to find that
match. You can pay anything, but the more you pay the Gypsy Matchmaker
the better your match is. Sorta sets a bad precedent doesn't it!
- Ok guys, you've missed out. It's official now, People en Espanol
has named Enrique Iglesias as the top eligible
bachelor in it's list of the top 25. Iglesias is followed by Pablo
Montero, actors Eduardo Yanez and Gabriel
Soto, and Wilmer Valderrama. Valderrama
(it says) certainly gets around as he has been linked to Lindsay
Lohan, Mandy Moore, Ashlee Simpson,
Jessica Alba, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
- Maybe not so hot, but sobering info. Bellevue High School students
in Omaha, Nebraska were given a lecture by a
special speaker who told the tale of how her 19-year old daughter
was murdered by an abusive boyfriend. It says that 1-in-5 girls
is affected by dating violence and that 50-80% of us know someone
who has been (I'm taking that to mean affected and not murdered).
- Now we have a good piece of news, Jennifer Anniston was on the
Oprah Winfrey show recently Oprah asked her if she was ready to
start dating again and she said "yes". Anybody got her
number?
- Singles Rule? According to a report recently
released by the US Census Burea, the largest segment of the US
population now is unmarried and childless singles and living alone!
31.6% of the people live like this as opposed to the 31.3% of
people who are married or unmarried with children. Do you not
feel so alone now?
- I must work at the wrong company! This article from India talks
about a new trend, Dating Allowances. They say
it is more of a trend here in the US, but I haven't seen it yet!
Can't exactly tell what a dating allowance is, but since they
list it as being added to a list that includes medical benefits
and transportation benefits, I'd think it would be something to
help pay for dates? Maybe I'm wrong because the article also talks
about the companies holding get-togethers and encouranging their
single employees to mingle! Read
the story. Like the article says, "it is important not
to judge a person only on his chocolate and flower buying abilities."
And then they have the alternate view on office romance where
they say that it will introduce jealousy into the workplace (as
if it wasn't there for other reasons already!) and lead to employees
wanting the obvious add-on, a condom allowance!
- Evolution & Dating? Article about how a
researcher used one of the speed dating services
to quickly gather data about how people behave in "real"
dating situations! After you've suspended your disbelief at a
supposdly learned research claiming that speed dating is real(!!)
it is actually quite a good story about the interactions and what
is really there in your dating subconcious. Read
it here - maybe you'll learn something, or at least perhaps
gain a pick-up line or something to fill the air during those
awkward pauses on your next date.
- Interesting article
that gives 12 mistakes people frequently make when they start
dating again. The article is essentially for people over 50 who
are back on the dating scene (given that it says don't be desperate
and say things like "This is my first date in 35 years"),
but it is good information and a quick read.
- Do you live in France? Then maybe you have heard of the newest
thing in the dating scene there -- L'amour la cuisine.
Cook dating is what it is. Basically
it is a cooking class in central Paris for single professionals
(who often have no time to find good dates), the cooking skills
are something they want to learn and the class just happens to
be held with an equal number of single men and women. "But
even if you don't meet the right someone, you will learn how to
cook." The class is a beginner's class and remains on the
simple side. Read
the story here.
- If things aren't going improving between you and an ex, don't
you think it's time to look for someone else? Not like Justin
W. Fraase who invited his ex over to his apartment to talk about
custody, but instead forced her into sex (and videoed it) so he
could prove to the courts she really wasn't afraid of him and
they should lift the restraining order! After giving the tape
to the police he was arrested for a couple of felonies! Read the
story here!
- Shh! The new trend in dating is to abandon the bars and nightclubs
and hit the "silent dating" scene.
That's right, quiet - no music, no noise, no talking. You communicate
through body language, gestures, or writing. I'll have to admit,
it is different. But as the article says you might not
find it works for you and it even quotes one of the people as
saying "I spelled my name wrong twice today"! Check
out the story.
- We were married in a past life. Does that really work? It must,
because Dr. Khaled Zeitoun of New York successfully used that
to get into serious relationships with several New York women
(read
the story). I wouldn't recommend you follow his pattern because
he was married at the time he was acquiring girlfriends through
Internet dating. He was telling them he wasn't married but that
they had been in the past! Investigators say he may have been
seeing as many as six (6!) women at a time! I
wonder if his wife wondered why he wasn't home much?
- Have you seen Yahoo's new program about IMU (I. M.iss yoU.)?
Can 3 couples seperated by distance stay together communicating
only with Yahoo products and services? They will at different
colleges and can't talk for an entire month. Can they stay together?
An interesting mix of reality tv and Big Brother-type programming.
Watch some video, see some photos, read snippets of e-mails they
send each other, see if they can complete the challenges, etc.
It's already in week #2. Check
it out here!
- Need to reject a potential date? Here's a handy
little website I heard about today. The
Rejection Hotline.
- Want to know a little bit more about your potential date? Always
a good idea, but don't do what Martha Lawrence of Little Rock,
Arkansas did. She was fired from her clerk's job at the Arkansas
Crime Information Center because she ran illegal background
checks on her boyfriend 6 times in less than a month.
And the guy wasn't accused of any crimes! Read the story here.
- Attention all girls out there who don't really like
the idea of online dating. There is another
way. Look at Swaziland, where last week more than 50,000
topless virgins went on display for King Mswati III in
the annual Reed Dance Ceremony hoping to become his 13th wife.
Granted, this idea may not appeal to you and it would be hard
to find a king to get in line for too, but there are other ways!
Story
here. Photos
of your competition here.
- Neat story
about how dogs at this Washington park bring people together.
Sounds like something out of the Must
Love Dogs movie, doesn't it?
- Think your dating life is screwed? What about all those poor
people in the south along the Gulf Coast? Particularly those in
New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama who've had their world literally
turned upside down by Hurricane Katrina. So have
a heart, donate
to the Red Cross
and help these guys out, ok?
- Cornfield Personals? That's what Pieter DeHond did! He spelled
out his personals message int 50 foot letters
in his cowfield using cornstalks. "SWF Got-2 love
Farm'n". He said it took him about an hour to do,
and he's gotten over 700 replies. And media attention
as far away as from halfway around the world. And you think you're
hopeless? Read
the story here.
- According to a date.com poll, Orlando Bloom and Jennifer
Anniston are the two celebrities that most
people would like to meet in the online dating sites chatrooms!
(This poll was conducted after the Halle Berry story broke a few
days ago.) Jessica Alba was second among the wanted females, followed
by Halle Berry. John Cusak and Matt Damon followed Orlando Bloom
in the list.

thought were deal breakers become not that important when you
really like the person. References the book Deal
Breakers by Michele Avantario and Maia Dunkel.

online dating sites
right now? Which ones are gaining or loosing subscribers?

all the guys out there. You can learn about yourself and life
even on a bad date - or as the book puts it with Mr. Wrong. But,
if women are taking that advice and dating even someone they know
has no choice, then isn't a good idea to be out there too? So
get over to the dating site reviews,
check one out and sign up!

out your dates before you go.

is being sold on eBay. Very interesting story to read about
it. Check it out!
- Wonder if your steady is really paying attention to what you
are saying? Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
are developing software for cell phones that uses mathematical
algorithms to determine the level of interest from one or both
parties to the conversation. The Jerk-O-Meter
currently works by displaying a message on the phone about how
much a Jerk you/they are being. It could give a message such as
"This person is acting like a jerk. Do you want to hang up?"
Anmol Madan, project lead, says that measuring a persons interest
level via mathematics is proven. "There are a bunch of academic
papers published about this."
- Lance needs a date! Have you heard the news?
This guy in Lindon, Utah (Lance Archibald) hasn't been able to
find a date/wife/whatever, and has posted a billboard
and website asking for qualified girls to submit their info. He's
31, 6' 3", 180 lbs, has an MBA from Harvard, and loves to
eat at Los Hermanos. Check the site out, see if maybe you can
find your guy without having to do the online dating. Click

Osmond isn't dumb, if you aren't Lance, there's a chance she might
take you. She's 30, 5' 4", not fat and has a BS
in Sociology. She also has a billboard not far from Lance's! :)

with people she doesn't even know!
